Everyone loves a character: Typefaces from the studio

Whilst we don’t claim to be a type foundry – we are type obsessed. Over time, that’s led to a folder full of half-formed ideas and incomplete character sets, abandoned once the early enthusiasm faded. Some might get revisited. Most won’t see the light of day. But every now and then, some make it through to the end.

Below are a selection of those that were realised – most are experimental, headline typefaces that are born from client tests or exercises working within certain limitations. Most are free for non-commercial use (please see the accompanying document when downloading for the specific details).

Tombstone Blues
A condensed headline typeface (with a little bit of intentional naivety) in an extensive character set and alternative glyphs. Free for non-commercial use.

Bullet Quad
An experimental and intentionally naïve typeface looking at form and legibility using 3 basic shapes and a square 2x2 grid. The typeface comes as a basic character set with alternate glyphs.

Stickle
A playful little headline typeface with a sprinkle of childhood nostalgia. A spinoff of Kayfabe Type Family.

Echo Display
A geometric typeface with a sprinkle of illegibility.
